Il Vero Piemonte · Editorial travel portal
Il Vero Piemonte: 1,963 pages, almost 2 million words, over 10,000 linked businesses and 47,000 internal links. A huge travel portal, built by us.
A whole region in one portal: 859 guides, a page for each of the 898 municipalities, 101 tours, food festivals and events, columns, and an engine that builds a tailor-made tour. Behind it, a method that holds up thousands of pages without a database and without a CMS.

The project
A travel portal for planning a trip on your own, across a whole region: from the cities to the Alpine valleys, from the wine hills to the lakes. Guides, tours, food festivals and events, columns, and a page for every municipality. It isn’t a client’s website: it is a project of our own, created to show on a real scale what can be built with the same method we use on company websites.

859 guides, 1.5 million words
The guides are the largest part of the portal: 1.5 million words, almost 1,800 per guide. What to see in a city in a day, the trails, the villages, the wines and the wineries, traditional dishes, fairs, holidays with children or with the dog. Every guide has real names, not descriptions that would fit any village: the square, the sanctuary, the trattoria, the producer.
Ten thousand businesses, linked one by one
From every page you reach the people who work in the area. Over ten thousand real businesses, restaurants, trattorias, pizzerias, bars, wineries, shops, farm stays, hotels, are linked inside the guides, the tours and the municipality pages, where they are needed. Each business has its address and direct contact, often on WhatsApp: no intermediaries and no commission.

47,000 internal links
The pages are linked to each other. Every guide has about thirty links to municipalities, tours and related guides. Every municipality links the guides, tours and events of its area. Every tour links its stops. In all there are about 47,000 internal links. They help Google understand what the website is about and how the places are connected; they let readers move from one page to the next without going back to the search.
101 tours, and the tailor-made tour
A hundred complete tours, from one to several days, with the stops, the municipalities crossed, the right season and practical tips. Each one opens with the mistake to avoid and explains how to organise the days, as well as listing the stops.
And the tailor-made tour: you say where you start, where you want to get to, how many days, who you are travelling with and what you like, among food and wine, nature, art, lakes, spas, snow, trekking, cycling and motorbikes. The engine searches the itineraries for the right one and, if needed, adapts it by adding nearby stops. On the home page, seven questions with no registration do the same thing in a minute.

Food festivals, events, columns
Alongside the guides there are the food festivals, fairs and feasts, each with its own page, and the columns. These are the pages people look for just before the weekend, and they take readers straight into the villages, and to the businesses that work there.
How it is built
All static: no database, no CMS, no plugins. Every page is HTML served as it is, and that is why almost two thousand pages can take any traffic peak on minimal hosting.
The guides start from real data, businesses, places, coordinates, opening hours, and go through assisted writing with review, not a generator left on its own. Structured data on every page, their own titles and descriptions, their own images.
Why we show it
Because it shows how far our way of working goes. The same system we use to build a ten-page website here holds almost two thousand pages and two million words, without changing technology and without disproportionate costs. And ten thousand businesses are one tap away, inside the pages people read.
