What we make

Three different things, with the same way of working. Proper video games, with levels, enemies and a story. Smaller games that open in the browser, on a computer or a phone, with nothing to install. And advergames: games designed for a brand, a product or a campaign.

In all three cases we start from the rules, before the graphics: what the player does, why they want to play again, when they win and when they lose.

Advergames: your brand inside a game

An advergame is a game built around a brand. The characters, the items to collect, the prizes and the colours are those of your product, and players spend a few minutes with it of their own free will, which almost never happens with an ordinary ad.

It works for a product launch, a social media campaign, a trade fair stand or an event, where people play on a tablet or on their own phone by scanning a QR code. The game opens from a link, with no app to download.

We design it with you: what players should remember, where it will be played, for how long. From there we choose the kind of game, the length of a match and how the brand appears.

NightKnight, the game we are working on

NightKnight is a 2D action game. A lone knight crosses twelve abandoned satellite-colonies, and on each one a Guardian is waiting for him. He is joined by Bianca, a white crow who never dies and who, with the light of the prisoners he frees, brings down flying enemies.

Each satellite lasts about ten minutes and is one continuous path in three parts: the surface with waves of enemies, a crossing among rocks, methane lakes and hanging cables, and finally the duel with the Guardian. Gravity, air and hazards change from one satellite to the next.

Today Titan can be played from start to finish. The other eleven satellites are in progress, along with the version that opens in the browser.

The details you feel while playing

In an action game what matters first is how the character responds. In NightKnight the jump forgives a moment of delay after the edge and remembers a key pressed just before landing; holding it down makes you jump higher.

The game saves itself at the start of every section. If the window loses focus, the game pauses. The music is bass and percussion, and every hit, jump or opening door has its own sound.

Characters, enemies and settings all share the same style, a dark cartoon with bold black outlines, and we keep it the same from the first drawing to the last.

How much a video game or an advergame costs

It depends on how big the game is: how many levels, how many characters, which screens it has to work on. The quote is free and written item by item, and comes after a no-obligation video call where you tell us what you have in mind.

01

The video call

You tell us how you work and what you would like to improve. No commitment.

02

The quote

You tell us about the game and we write you a quote, item by item.

03

We talk it over

In Milan we bring the quote to your premises and go through it sitting at a table; outside Milan, on a video call. We adjust it together.

04

The contract

When the quote works for you, we sign the contract.

05

The prototype

A first playable version, before the final artwork.

06

Delivery

The finished game, tested on every screen it is made for.
