Visita la Campania · Editorial travel portal
Visita la Campania: 2,224 pages, 803 guides and 2.2 million words. The second portal, bigger than the first.
A whole region, from the city to the islands, from the coast to the interior: areas, experiences, food, pizza, archaeology, walking routes, guides, columns, events. Every guide starts from a dossier of sources and goes through automatic checks and review.
The project
A portal on travel in a whole region. This too is a project of our own, and it serves the same purpose as the first: to show what the method holds up when the scale grows. And it grows a lot: 2,224 pages, divided into eight large areas and all the sections a traveller needs.
Not just guides. There are the areas, the experiences, food with recipes and local products, pizza with its own pages, archaeology, walking routes, beaches, spas, crafts, cinema, famous people, a calendar of feasts and food festivals, the map and search.
803 guides, 2.2 million words
The guides are long: on average 2,750 words each, 2.2 million in all. What to see in a day, walking routes, the islands, the archaeological sites, the dishes and the wines, with the practical things to know before leaving. Each has eight frequently asked questions at the top and real prose in the body, not bullet lists.

70 pages on pizza alone
Neapolitan pizza has its own section, with seventy pages: the history, the historic pizzerias, the dough, the flours, the rising, the oven, the crust, the cheeses, the tomato, the traditional pizzas and their recipes. It is an example of how the portal goes deep into a subject, instead of skimming it.

How a portal like this is written
Every guide starts from a dossier of sources, and the sources are checked before writing. A place can appear in several guides, but it always has one main guide the others point to. Businesses are included only once verified.
Production runs as a queue: a list of titles, the writing, an automatic check on length, frequently asked questions, duplicates and banned expressions, then the review. It is the method that holds up a portal of this scale without an editorial team.
Why it matters
Between the two portals there are more than 4,000 pages and over 4 million words, made with the same method. Anyone asking us for a website knows there is a way of working behind it that holds up projects of any size.
